Erika Frantzve, Charlie Kirk’s wife, gave her first remarks since her husband’s assassination in Utah. She thanked Donald Trump and JD Vance for their support.
Pro-right activist Charlie Kirk’s wife Erika on Sunday gave her first remarks since his assassination in Utah days earlier. As she remembered her late husband, she broke down, and said he “loved” her and their children.
“Charlie loved life, he loved his life…he loved America, he loved nature which helped him bring closer to God…, but most of all Charlie loved his children, and he loved me with all of his heart…,” Erika said, further describing Charlie as the perfect father and husband.
Erika thanked US President Donald Trump and his family, and Vice President JD Vance and his “phenomenal wife” Usha for their love and support.
“Mr President, my husband loved you, and he knew that you loved him too…your friendship is amazing,” Erika said.
Addressing her husband’s brutal killing, Erika said Charlie was now with “his Savior and his God”, adding he would be wearing the “glorious crown of a martyr”.
Further in her address, Erika recalled what Charlie told him his goal would be if he ran for office: ‘Reviving the American family’.
Big message for those behind Charlie Kirk’s shooting
Issuing a strong message over her husband’s assassination, Erika Kirk said those responsible for the attack had “no idea” of the fire they had unleashed.
Referring to those behind Charlie Kirk’s killing as “evildoers”, Erika said: “They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love. They should all know this: If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea”.
“The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. To everyone listening across America… no one will ever forget my husband’s name, and I will make sure that,” she further said.
Erika Kirk’s remarks came hours after the arrest of Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah man, for the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The suspect likely acted alone and the motive reportedly stemmed from his “hate” for Kirk’s messages and ideas.
Charlie Kirk’s mid-speech shooting in Utah
Charlie Kirk was shot dead on Wednesday (local time) when he was in the middle of making remarks during an event at the Utah Valley University (UVU). He was staunch pro-right activist and was known for his strong views on subjects like abortion, gun control and racism, among others.
At the UVU event, Kirk was responding to a question about transgender mass shooters when a sudden gunshot rang out and a bullet hit him.
